11/30/2005

China Regional Aviation Forum 2003 was held at Bo'ao, Hainan from March 27th to 28th, 2003.

China Regional Aviation Forum 2004 was held at Jiu Zhai Gou, Si Chuan from September 23th to 25th, 2004.

Co-sponsored by AVIC I Commercial Aircraft Co., Ltd. (ACAC), GE Aircraft Engines and other companies and organizations, the "China Regional Aviation Forum" is held each year since 2003. China Regional Aviation Forum 2003 was held at Bo'ao, Hainan from March 27th to 28th, 2003, and China Regional Aviation Forum 2004 was held at Jiu Zhai Gou, Si Chuan from September 23th to 25th, 2004.

The focus of the forum is to look into the future of China's regional aviation development, to explore and discuss how to foster and promote China's regional aviation market and to study the operation mode to help develop regional jets for China's market.

Participants include officials from the State Reform and Development Commission, the Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, representatives from domestic and overseas airlines, aircraft manufacturers home and abroad, as well as global suppliers of aerospace and industrial products.

It is estimated that China has a potential market for more than 660 regional jets over the next twenty years and feeder traffic will reach more than 10 million people. In future, regional aviation will become a new point for China's civil aviation's development for a quite long period. However, its development still faces some obstacles like irrational location of airline networks, high cost and lack of suitable jets. Governments and related supervising organizations have issued a series of policies to help overcome these difficulties while enterprises involved actively adjust their strategies and issue development plans accordingly, making China's regional aviation development have a bright future.
