Great Wall Flies Again
Published: Jan 24, 2007

Great Wall Airlines has resumed its all-cargo air services, earlier than expected. The first flight flew on January 21 between Shanghai Pudong and Amsterdam Schiphol.

Flights to Mumbai and Chennai, India, will be restored in the coming weeks. The airline intends to expand its network in 2007, connecting manufacturing hubs in China with overseas consumer markets.

"We received tremendous support from the CAAC in gearing up to resume our services and we wish to register our gratitude. Our promise to our customers remain, and a commitment to safe and reliable operations," said Tan Kai Ping, President, Great Wall Airlines.

Great Wall Airlines is a Sino-Singapore joint venture cargo airline based in Shanghai. It was forced to suspend operations on September 21 after the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Great Wall Industry Corporation.
