Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has announced plans to work with digital media network company Airmedia to install digital frames and light box displays for advertising in the airport. It will be China's first regional facility to have such media platforms, and only the third after Beijing and Shanghai.
"We will finish installing the 46in digital photo frames beneath the current 40 LCD digital TV screens in Shuangliu airport by end of this year," says an Airmedia spokesman. "The digital frame will display photos or pictures by 64 mega pixels per 15 seconds."
AirMedia claims to operate over 95% of the digital TV screens that display advertisements in China. AirMedia also offers advertisers other media platforms in 37 airports in the country, such as digital frames, light box displays, 360-degree LED displays and 3D displays. It combines advertising content with non-advertising content, such as news, weather, sports and comedy clips, in its digital TV screen programmes.
