China Southern Airlines, in cooperation with partner KLM, and upon request by the Dutch travel agent ATP, will transport Dutch participants and visitors to and from the Olympics in Beijing in 2008.

China Southern Airlines, KLM and ATP, the official handling agent for the Dutch NOC*NSF Olympic organization, recently signed an exclusive agreement, stating to transport the many hundreds of athletes, coaches, sponsors and other people involved to the various locations for the Olympic Games, which shall officially start on August 8, 2008 in the Chinese capital of Beijing.

Mr. Ren Yongdong, General Manager of China Southern Airlines Europe stated: "As a Chinese airline we are honored to act as a bridge between The Netherlands and China for this world famous sports event."

For China Southern's partner KLM, as well as for ATP, this agreement lies within a tradition of facilitating the flights to and from the Olympic Games. "We are very proud that ATP has granted KLM this prestigious honor once more", said Director of KLM the Netherlands, Bram Gräber, after the signing of the agreement.

For China Southern, having operated the routing of Amsterdam - Beijing - Guangzhou for more than 10 years, and with the six year code-share service with KLM, this project is considered an important milestone of the partnership between the two airlines.

Mr. Ren stated to believe that the city of Beijing and its people in one year’s time will be fully prepared for the Olympic Games.

"We are very much content with this cooperation between China Southern Airlines, KLM and ATP", stated Mr. Ren Yongdong, China Southern's General Manager of Europe. "We feel very proud to welcome the many Dutch athletes and visitors in our China in 2008. And of course we wish the athletes all the best of luck!"
