The Taiwanese carrier China Airlines is trying a new tactic to earn a model reputation after a series of accidents and problems this year.
The airline, which used top Taiwanese model Lin Chiling for its 2007 calendar, has made a 2008 calendar featuring not only Lin, but also 12 of its most beautiful flight attendants and ground staff members.
Each of the 12 appear with Lin on different months.
Though the calendar was not for sale, it was widely reported in local media. The airline is now receiving a growing number of requests for the calendar.
The Taipei-based airline has also made figurines of three types of flight attendants from the 1970s. Their uniforms are based on designs of Chinese dresses.
The carrier made 10,000 units of each type of figurine. It is giving them to passengers who bought air tickets for routes from Taiwan to Japan, South Korea or China at regular prices.
Distribution started on Dec. 15 and is expected to continue until Jan. 31 of next year.
