The "2nd China and Portuguese Speaking Countries Airports Conference – Macau 2007" is held at Venetian Macao Convention & Exhibition Centre from the 6th to the 8th December 2007. The inauguration ceremony is officiated by Deputy Director of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao SAR, Ms. Gao Yan, Vice-Minister of Civil Aviation Administration of China General Administration, Mr. Gao Hongfeng, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Macao SAR, Mr. Huang Sonfu and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Macau International Airport Co. Ltd., Dr. Deng Jun, etc. In addition, thank you speeches are presented by Vice-Minister of Civil Aviation Administration of China General Administration, Mr. Gao Hongfeng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Macau International Airport Co. Ltd., Dr Deng Jun and Secretary General of Supporting Office to the Secretariat of China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum (Macao), Mr. Wang Chengan. The conference is organized by CAM-Macau International Airport Co. Ltd., co-organised by the Permanent Secretariat to the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, Macao Civil Aviation Authority, Macau Government Tourist Office, The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and Institute of Macao Civil Aviation. The event can be held successfully depends on the fully support from the Central Government and the governments in the Portuguese Speaking Countries. To cope with the economic and trade development policies of the Macau SAR Government by means of playing Macau's unique characteristic to be a linkage between Mainland China and Portuguese Speaking Countries, following to the succeed in holding the "First China and Portuguese Speaking Countries Airports Conference" in 2004, there were 360 air traffic control as well as civil aviation administrative staffs from Macau and Mainland China being sent to Portugal to receive special trainings and these trainings were organized by CAM. There is a planning to organize a seminar next year with the managerial level who is expert in the finance area among the Small and Medium Airports. Topics of the seminar will be focused on airport's infrastructure facilities, investment, financial plans and management, etc. Besides, experience will be shared with sister airports like Lisbon International Airport and Frankfurt Airport in Germany. We will also establish relevant cooperation mechanism in between Mainland China and Portugal. CAM will put forth every effort to implement concretely the role of Macau to be a linkage platform in between Mainland China and the Portuguese speaking countries. Moreover, we promote the development of airlines from Macau to Mainland China and the Portuguese speaking countries.

Topics of the three-day conference will be focused on the following themes: a) Regulation System of Civil Aviation and Air Space Management, b) Operation and Development of Airports and Airline Companies, c) Civil Aviation Cooperation between China and Portuguese Speaking Countries and d) Infrastructure of Airports.
