To implement the spirit of civil aviation ATC working conference, realize the objectives of "to further strengthen the construction of civil aviation meteorology, do a good job in preparing meteorological supporting work for the holding of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games", 2007 civil aviation meteorology working conference was held in Beijing on June 13. Su Langen, Director General of CAAC/ATMB, and Li Zongji, Deputy Director General of CAAC/ATMB attended this conference.

Director General Su delivered an important speech on national civil aviation meteorological work. He first affirmed the achievements of civil aviation meteorological work in the past few years. Then he announced the overall plan of ATC reform, stressed the important role of three major operating systems (including the civil aviation meteorology) in the development of ATC, and further made the instructions that, leaders of CAAC and ATMB shall attach great importance to the civil aviation meteorological work, focus on the construction of China Civil Aviation Meteorological Center and comprehensively promote the building of meteorological operations.

Deputy Director General Li also affirmed the achievements in the past years, he stated that, under the leadership of party committee of CAAC and ATMB, the meteorological work have made good progress in various fields. Detection capabilities have been continuously upgraded, the qualities of services and products have been improved, the equipment construction has been made steady progress, and the scientific research and training work has been achieved remarkable results. He made the deployment for civil aviation meteorological services in this year, and stressed they shall focus on the following works: First, to complete the security supporting work from June to August; Second, to provide fine meteorological products for ensuring the smooth implementation of RVSM; Third, to do a good job in meteorological services for reducing the flight delays; Fourth, to do a good job in preparing the meteorological services for Olympic Games; Fifth, to carefully study the meteorology for the plateau airports；Sixth, to complete the task of civil aviation meteorology construction according to the plans; Seventh, to do the ideological work for civil aviation meteorological staff.

The Director of Meteorological Department of CAAC/ATMB Zhou Jianhua presided over the conference and made the working repot. Representatives from Meteorological Department of CAAC/ATMB, regional ATMB, Meteorological Center and relevant people also attended the conference.
