On October 11, 2007, CAAC/ATMB convened RVSM air traffic control director meeting in Guangzhou, which was focused on discussing the transitional plan and the security measures about RVSM. The meeting was presided over by Miao Xuan, Director of air traffic control department of CAAC/ATMB. Su Langeng, Director General of CAAC/ATMB, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Director Miao firstly introduced the progress of RVSM preparatory work, and then the participants had in-depth discussion on RVSM transitional plan and the security measures. Representatives of the various regional ATMB respectively reported their preparatory work, risk management program and the training summary.

Director General Su affirmed the RVSM preparatory work, and evaluated and deployed the overall work arrangement and the matters need to be particularly concerned.  He stressed that, each unit shall attach great importance to the implementation of RVSM, and recognize the great significance of it. He also said, it's the first challenge that the ATC system faced since the ATC structure reform; we must make every effort to do this job well.
