China Airlines is greatly honored to fly President Chen Shui-bian to the Republic of Guatemala and the Republic of Saint Lucia in Central America later today. Since June 2002, China Airlines has carried President Chen on 13 official presidential trips.
A Boeing 747-400 is designated for the flight to Central America. The aircraft is equipped with a state-of-the-art Global Positioning System, seated satellite phone, and personal TV, to ensure President Chen and his team a safe and pleasant journey.
The carefully selected crew, including four experienced pilots and 20 flight attendants, are accomplished professionals with a pleasant personality to provide the president with an enjoyable trip. They reflect CAL’s corporate image of youth and dynamic attributes.
The in-flight menu, based on the availability of in-season fresh ingredients, is especially designed to suit President Chen’s personal tastes. CAL will provide an in-flight menu of creative fusion meals that includes a variety of Taiwanese, Japanese and Western cuisines, to guarantee the president and his team an exquisite in-flight meal service.
The CAL 747-400 aircraft is configured into three classes with 390 seats (12 in First Class, 64 in Dynasty Class and 314 in Economy Class). The 747-400 type aircraft primarily serves routes to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Vancouver, with Tokyo and Hong Kong in between the long-haul routes.
