On January 22, Hong Kong Airlines announced the appointment of Mr. David Lui as the Chief Executive Officer.
In his new position, Mr. Lui will be responsible for improving company performance, enhancing service delivery and promoting the cooperation with partner airlines.
"I will dedicate myself to integrating the company resources to achieve the best synergy effects," said Mr. David Lui. "Service enhancement is also one of my primary focuses as to build a solid foundation for realizing the targeted growth of the company."
Mr. Lui is an aviation veteran with more than 22 years of experience. Prior to joining Macau Asia Express as the Chief Operation Officer, he had held a number of key positions with Dragonair and Cathay Pacific - where he worked for 14 years since 1985. Mr. Lui then joined Dragonair as General Manager - Engineering in 1998 and set up the Engineering Division for the company. Under his leadership, the engineering team had designed and built a unique aircraft technical management model which was well recognized by the International Federation of Airworthiness (IFA) and he was presented the Frank Whittle Safety Award for Year 2005. During his time in Dragonair, Mr. Lui was also involved in Corporate & Fleet Planning, Information Management, On-Time Performance, Service Delivery, HR Policy Committee and task forces that formulate and implemented major strategic company decisions.
Mr. Lui holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, USA, and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, UK. He is also an honorary adviser to the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association.
