Airod Sdn Bhd, an aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) specialist, is pairing with Switzerland aviation group, Jet Aviation, to provide support services for corporate and private jets in Airod's facility in Subang.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the two parties yesterday at Jet Aviation's Singapore facility in Seletar airport, Singapore.
Airod chief executive officer Kamil Aziz said a joint venture company would be formed to mark the collaboration of the two aerospace companies in the lucrative market of corporate business jets.
"We are targeting a niche and specialised market," he said after the MoU signing.
Kamil said the facility in Subang will provide immediate support for corporate business jets customers in maintenance, technical services and AOG or aircraft on ground support, parking and ground handling, FBO or fixed based operator services and flight support.
"In future, the partners are looking into expanding into charter, aircraft management, refurbishments and completion centre," Kamil said.
Jet Aviation Asia Pacific senior vice president and general manager Sebastian Groeger said the Subang facility would complement Jet Aviation's existing facilities in Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing.
