CSA donates RMB10 million yuan to Sichuan earthquake area

China Southern Airlines, the newest member of SkyTeam and the largest airline in The People's Republic of China donated RMB10 Million yuan to the people suffering from the earthquake in Sichuan province. Soon after the earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale happened in Sichuan province at 14:28 on 12 May, China Southern Airlines set up an Anti-Earthquake First-Aid Leading Team at 17:00 on the same afternoon to call for donation from all its staff to the disaster area.

Only within a half day, China Southern Airlines collected RMB10 Million yuan from its more than 60,000 staff and employees in 18 subsidiaries, 2 bases, 17 domestic offices and 49 overseas offices.

In addition, China Southern Airlines has sent for its four large jets including Boeing 777s and Airbus A330s to fly more than 400 special policemen, more than 150 doctors and nurses and a large quantity of first-aid material and food to the earthquake area.
