In response to the earthquake in Wenchuan, Air China immediately launched a plan to help transport relief supplies. Air China is demonstrating to the world that, in the face of disaster, it will always give a high priority to social responsibilities. At this time, Air China's Marketing Department is working with the Party Committee Propaganda Department to release news on the latest relief efforts of Air China to the public through their own media platforms and purchased media space. As of May 21st, 2008, the Marketing Department released a total of 14 disaster relief news items both at home and abroad. They also made a comprehensive report on topics of interest to the media including flight scheduling, passenger evacuation, cabin transformation, the organization of contributions and rescue personnel and the transportation of supplies. According to some statistics, more than 500 media outlets have published or republished the news of Air China's relief efforts.
