Moshe Airport - the northernmost civil airport at the highest latitude in China — has been formally opened in Mohe.
China Southern Airlines launched a daily flight on the Beijing-Harbin-Mohe route. The service is operated using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Chang Bin, director of Mohe Tourism Bureau said that because Mohe has rich natural and tourism resources, the Heilongjiang provincial government built this civil airport in the county to improve its traffic condition and encourage its tourism development.
Construction started in June 2006, the airport has a 2,100-meter-long and 45-meter-wide runway and a 12,320-square-meter parking area and cost about CNY230 million.
