Vendtek's partner wins contract for Beijing Airport
Published: Jun 26, 2008

VendTek Systems Inc. ("VendTek" or "The Company"), a leading provider of automated transaction systems software, is pleased to announce that its partner in Beijing, Wanbosi Communication Co. Ltd. ("Wanbosi"), together with Future Section Information IT (Beijing) Ltd. Co. ("FSI") has won the bid to become the sole electronic product distribution operator in Terminal 3, the new airport terminal at Beijing Capital International Airport ("BCIA").

As one of the most important construction projects for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, BCIA Terminal 3 will begin operations in two stages on February 29th, 2008 and March 26th, 2008 respectively.

Beijing Capital is today the busiest airport in the People's Republic of China, having registered double-digit growth annually since 2003. In 2004, it became the busiest airport in Asia by aircraft movements, overtaking Tokyo International Airport (Haneda). In terms of passengers, Beijing was the second-busiest airport in Asia after Haneda and ninth-busiest worldwide in 2006. In 2006, it served about 48.5 million passengers. It operates around 1,100 flights a day, and is expected to rise to 1,500 to 1,600 at the Olympics in 2008.

FSI has been contracted to provide the self-serve kiosks. Wanbosi will provide electronic card distribution services on self-serve kiosks. BCIA will deploy 36 self-serve kiosks in Terminal 3. The kiosks will use the eFresh(TM) OCX module which connects to a central eFresh(TM) server via GPRS. The service is expected to launch on April 15.

Doug Buchanan, president of VendTek said, "We are excited that eFresh(TM) has been recognized as the superior product to deliver electronic products and services to the busiest airport in China. Our technology has the ability to be scalable and versatile enough to handle the volume of transactions demanded by customers in Terminal 3."
