The Airport Authority of Hong Kong said its net profit for the year ended March rose 18 pct to 2.27 bln hkd on increased passenger volume as well as cargo throughput at the airport.

Turnover stood at 8.58 bln hkd, up 11 pct year-on-year, as passenger volume grew 8 pct to 48.90 mln and cargo throughput increased 6.0 pct to 3.80 mln tons, the authority said in a statement.

It said it will distribute total dividend of 2.0 bln hkd to the government, up 25 pct from a year earlier.
