Profit was not a problem in the first half of 2008 for China Eastern Airlines Corp according to the Chairman Li Fenghua speaking earlier this week.
"We did well in the first quarter. I see no problems in being profitable in the first half," he said during a shareholders meeting break, according to Reuters.
However, Li explained that it would be hard to estimate a full-year profit.
For the first quarter, China Eastern reported a net profit of 210.8 million yuan compared to net profits of 586 million yuan in 2007, according to Trading Markets.
