China B-shares finished the morning session higher, with airlines leading the gains amid hopes that next month's Beijing Olympic Games will boost their revenues, dealers said.
Tourism and property stocks also rose sharply.
The Shanghai B-share Index rose 5.65 points or 2.69 pct to 215.57, while the Shenzhen B-share Index gained 11.79 points or 2.53 pct to 477.96.
The FTSE/Xinhua China B 35 Index was up 189.51 points or 2.55 pct at 7,615.25.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A- and B-shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, ended the morning up 106.39 points or 3.98 pct at 2,776.28.
