Chinese securities dealer Capital Securities recommended China Southern Airlines (ZNH.NYSE; 1055.HK; 600029.SH) to investors in a research report published Monday.
The securities dealer deemed that China Southern would benefit most from direct mainland-Taiwan charter flights that just commenced.
The first cross-strait weekend charter flight, operated by Liu Shaoyong, chairman of China Southern, landed at Taipei Taoyuan airport last Friday morning.
Capital Securities pointed out that China's aviation industry is to obtain great business opportunity upon the opening of direct flights across the Strait.
Trade volume across the Strait has been surging in recent years. According to Capital Securities, Taiwan's rate of trade dependence on the Chinese mainland has reached 25 percent.
Due to the geographical limitation, aircraft is the major transportation tool for residents from Taiwan when traveling to the Chinese mainland.
As one of the three airline giants in China, China Southern boasts the largest aircraft fleet, the broadest flight route networks and the biggest market share of passenger transportation in the Chinese mainland, which is deemed by Capital Securities to benefit most from the direct cross-Strait flights.
