Tianjin Binhai International Airport in China is adopting special anti-explosion security checks from 20 July to ensure airport safety before and during the Beijing Olympic Games. The airport advises passengers to arrive much earlier to allow time for these new checks.
All passengers and those coming to collect or drop them off must undergo checks for flammable and explosive substances at the terminal entrance.
Airport officials will also maintain a security checking passage at the entrance hall on the first floor and two security checking passages at the exit hall on the second floor. Routine baggage and security checks will continue as normal.
The airport warns that anyone who rejects the checks will be punished.
