Jet engine makers GE Aviation and CFM International left the Farnborough Air Show in the United Kingdom with more than $9 billion in orders.
CFM, a joint venture between GE Aviation's parent General Electric Co. and Snecma in France, booked 540 new engine orders, and a materials and services agreement. The deals were worth more than $5 billion at list price.
GE Aviation's tally included a $2 billion deal with Southwest Airlines for GE's OnPoint Solutions unit to maintain and overhaul all of Southwest's CFM56-7B engines over a 10-year period.
GE Aviation and CFM International are headquartered in Evendale.
