Travel advisories: new measures at China airports during Olympics

To better safeguard the security of air transportation during the Beijing Olympics, commencing 20 July 2008, new special security check measures will be enforced at the following airports:
1. Beijing Capital International Airport
2. Shanghai Hongqiao Airport
3. Shanghai Pudong Airport
4. Qingdao Airport
5. Tianjin Airport
6. Shenyang Airport
7. Qinhuangdao Airport
8. Shijiazhuang Airport
9. Taiyuan Airport
10. Ji’nan Airport
11. Hangzhou Airport
12. Nanjing Airport
13. Hefei Airport
14. Changchun Airport
15. Harbin Airport
16. Hohhot Airport
17. Dalian Airport
18. All airports in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
19. All airports in Tibet Autonomous Region
Persons entering the above airport terminals shall be subject to security check at the entrance of the terminals.
Persons entering the airports above carrying explosives, inflammable or explosive articles will be subject to severe punishment in accordance with current laws and regulations of China.
Passengers shall bear the resulting consequences caused by the carriage of these prohibited items.
Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early with sufficient time for security check and to avoid missing respective flight.
China launched its first jumbo jet company in Shanghai on May 11, with the aim of developing it into a globally competitive aircraft manufacturer. The company, named Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd (CACC), will be responsible for researching, developing, manufacturing and marketing the made-in-China large passenger aircraft.
