James Stewart has been appointed Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SR Technics and Member of the Group Executive Board. He will assume his new position on August 11, succeeding former CFO Georg Radon, who left SR Technics in May 2008 to become CFO of Swiss Federal Railways. Peter Ilg, who has served as interim CFO since the departure of Georg Radon, continues in his role as SR Technics’ Group Head of Controlling.
James Stewart joins SR Technics as a proven industry leader with a highly successful management career in international aviation. James Stewart started his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young. He joined Bombardier Inc. as Financial Controller in 1990. His career at Bombardier included the roles of Chief Financial Officer of its Learjet business, and Vice President Finance at Short Brothers. In 1999, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Bombardier Aerospace, where he managed a finance team of approximately 600 employees and was responsible for the restructuring of the finance organisation and financial governance. From 2002 to 2004 he served as Vice President Specialized Finance at the Bombardier Group, and from 2004 to 2006 he was Vice President Finance, New Commercial Aircraft Programs.
In mid-2006, James Stewart joined Aerion Corporation as financial and business advisor and played a central role in the development of its programme. Aerion Corporation is an advanced aeronautical engineering company, based in Reno, Nevada.
James Stewart holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from Queen's University in Belfast. He is a Fellow and Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland.
