Dragonair has been voted Best Regional Airline: SE Asia in the annual World Airline Survey™ run by Skytrax. This is the first time the carrier has won in this category.
Over 15 million travellers of 97 different passenger nationalities voted in the survey which was carried out between Aug-07 and Jun-08. Award winners are determined by measuring passenger satisfaction over 40 product and service factors covering the experience on the ground and at the airport, onboard product and onboard service.
Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Kenny Tang said, "It is a great honour for the airline to receive this award. It shows that Dragonair is being recognised not only in Mainland China - our key market - but also in Southeast Asia. This is a resounding recognition of our product and service quality both inflight and on the ground. Credit must go to all our staff for working to provide the very best service experience,"
"On behalf of everyone at Dragonair I would like to thank all those travellers who voted for us. This will certainly encourage us to aim for even greater heights to ensure that Dragonair becomes the airline of choice in every market we serve."
Dragonair has significantly enhanced its network since become part of the Cathay Pacific Group in Sept-06, adding a total of eight destinations. The airline works to connect people from major regional destinations to the Mainland through the Hong Kong hub, and also provides connections to the extensive international network of its sister airline.
Dragonair, an affiliate member of oneworld, is a Hong Kong-based airline operating a fleet of 32 passenger aircraft and six freighters serving 33 regional destinations, including 20 cities in Mainland China. Dragonair is part of the Cathay Pacific Group, providing connectivity for passengers to more than 100 cities around the globe.
