General Electric Co, a partner for the Olympics, said it expects to generate US$700 million in revenues from the 400 infrastructure projects it has won for the Beijing Games.
Its unit, NBC Universal which acquired the United States broadcast rights for the Games, will also generate a record of more than US$1 billion in advertising revenues, GE said.
GE is managing projects in all 37 official competition venues for the Beijing Games and 168 commercial buildings in and around Beijing.
They range from water treatment technologies and rainwater recycling to airport baggage screening and power supply. Additionally, it is supplying 120 wind turbines to two wind farms north of Beijing, which supply energy to the Olympic Central Area.
