China's 63 Olympic gold medalists arrived in Hong Kong at around 11 am today to a warm welcome from Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen.
Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-shing and Gao Siren, the director of the central government's liaison office in Hong Kong were also present at Chek Lap Kok airport to greet the athletes.
They came to Hong Kong on a flight bearing the logo of five Olympic mascots FuWa.
In his welcome speech, Tsang said Hong Kong people were proud of the national heroes.
The team was taken on coach to InterContinental Grand Stanford in Tsim Sha Tsui.
They will attend a reception organized by the Hong Kong government this evening.
