Vietnamese officials and athletes arrived in Beijing, China, on the evening of August 31 to prepare for competitions at the Beijing Paralympic Games from September 6-17.
They were welcomed at Beijing International Airport by the Vietnamese Ambassador to China and Chinese volunteers.
Nine Vietnamese athletes will compete in weightlifting, track-and-field, swimming and judo.
This is the third time Vietnam has joined in the Games, apart from the Sydney Paragames in 2000 and the Athen Paragames in 2004.
Le Van Cong, who will compete in men's weightlifting in the 48kg category, is expected to win a medal for the country.
The 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games is expected to draw more than 4,000 athletes from over 150 countries and territories competing in 20 events.
