Deutsche Post World Net subsidiary DHL has conducted a ground-breaking ceremony celebrating expansion to its hub at Hong Kong International Airport.
Jerry Hsu, president, Greater China of DHL Express said Hong Kong provided ground-air connectivity at a level mainland China has not yet achieved.
The 24-hour Central Asia hub expansion needed an additional investment of US$110 million, bringing the total cost of the facility to $210 million.
With an increase from 18,200 square metres to 35,000 sqm, DHL is now able to move 75,000 pieces per hour and is expected to move 40 million shipments this year.
