On the morning of September 29th, the reflection and commendation meeting for the Olympics and Paralympics was held at the Great Hall of the People. Three hundred and forty units and 566 comrades, thereinto 3 advanced units and 2 advanced individuals came from Air China, were awarded by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.
As the only partner airline for the Beijing Olympics, Air China was the first to serve Olympic athletes and guests. Its work was marked to have made the longest preparation for the longest duration of continued security as well as the largest sum of input for specific security, and the company also became the undertaker of the most security tasks. Throughout the last four years, Air China has always viewed its security services for the Olympics and Paralympics as the most important, and has fully implemented all security tasks for all Olympic air transportation. From April 1st to May 3rd, 2008, Air China successfully finished the overseas charter flight task known as "Harmonious Journey" for the Beijing Olympic torch relay, which made several records in the history of civil aviation, as a single aircraft. During the Olympics and Paralympics, all cadres and employees of Air China worked together, thus ensuring the smooth and effective operation of all flights serving the Olympics. The number of charter planes and corporate planes supplied by Air China made history. The excellent service provided for the Olympic family members was highly praised by sportspeople from all over the world, as well as BOGOC. Air China has made outstanding contributions to the Olympics and the Paralympics.
At the meeting, Air China Co. Ltd., Maintenance Department of AMECO and the Air China Torch Relay Crew of were awarded as the Advanced Unit for Beijing Olympics and Paralympics; Yang Lihua, Vice President of Air China and Zhang Chunzhi, Secretary of the Air China Olympic Working Committee and General Manager of the Marketing Department of Commercial Committee, were awarded as Advanced Individuals for the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics.
