CAFUC buys Mechtronix flight simulator

China's Largest Flight Training University Selects Mechtronix to be First Provider of A320 Flight Simulator for Airbus Instructional Program

Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) today announced the purchase of the new A320 FFS X(TM) and FFT X(TM) from Mechtronix, the fastest growing and third leading manufacturer of flight training equipment in the world.

CAFUC will use brand new A320 flight training equipment to expand its instructional program for Ab-Initio training and to service China's airlines type rating needs.

These purchases further develop CAFUC's collaboration with Mechtronix to help meet the region's ever growing pilot provisioning demands.

Mechtronix’ successful past deployment of FFS's at the university was cited as primary reasons in the selection process.

The units will be delivered and installed at the University's facility in Guanghan City, Sichuan province, P.R. of China.

CAFUC is the largest university for advanced civil aviation education in China and Asia providing pilot training for more than 90% of China’s commercial aviation pilots and acting as a 3rd party training center for airlines such as Air China.

The purchase of both the FFS X(TM) and FFT X(TM) demonstrate the tremendous market demand to train a new generation of A320 pilots and the organization's desire to expand its training capabilities.

The FFS X(TM) unit is the first A320 FFS Level D at CAFUC's facility and will be undergoing qualification by the CAAC.

It will be used for both initial and recurrent training.

CAFUC chose the new generation of FFS X(TM) which utilizes an electric motion base which takes up less space, is quieter and easier to maintain than traditional hydraulic units.

The unit offers the highest Level D fidelity utilizing a collimated visual system that allows for multi-dimensional viewing.

The FFT X(TM) provides a cost effective high fidelity training environment and a high level of dynamic environment cues namely a collimated visual system and a high end sound enhanced vibration system feedback.

As per CAFUC's request, the A320 FFT X(TM) will undergo qualification as a Level 5 FTD under FAA rules.

"We are very happy to expand our business relationship with Mechtronix as a key provider of flight training technology for the A320", said CAFUC's President Mr. Xiaoyong Zheng.

"We are confident, based on our past experiences with Mechtronix, of the quality of the technology. Similar to the past training units we have deployed, we look forward to Mechtronix design benefits such as high fidelity, ease of use, simplicity and low cost of operations.

"These advantages will be essential in helping us deal with our challenge of training a new generation of pilots."

"We are very pleased with CAFUC's continued support of Mechtronix' technology and exceptional value proposition; this marks respectively the 23rd and 24th acquisition of the Canadian manufacturer's pilot training equipment" said Mr. David Chou, President of Pacific-China Aero Technology Ltd.

"We appreciate their good will and growing long term commitment to use our technology," said Xavier Herv, President of Mechtronix.

"We look forward to be the leader in training the region's airline pilots and the new generation of pilots to come. We are very pleased that our past performance in developing simulators of all levels has met their high standards and enabled us to make our first inroads into the Airbus training market in
China."
