CAAC outlines spending plans
Published: Nov 11, 2008
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has announced that the bureau will this year spend US$1.7 billion (Yuan 11.7 billion) of the airport tax fund, including US$1.36 billion (Yuan 9.3 billion) to subsidise airport construction.

Zhou Laizhen, director of CAAC's financial department, says the fund will focus on small- and medium-sized airport constructions in middle and western parts of China.

In 2006 and 2007 respectively, a total of 122 and 123 small- and medium-sized airports won a subsidy and 70% of these are located in the middle and western regions of China.
