The Boeing Company, one of the world's biggest aircraft manufacturers, announced that it would provide capital for the expansion of its China venture Bohai Aeronautical Composite Material Components Co.
Currently, the global giant has gained the utilization right of the land adjacent to the facilities of the venture, which is located at the Tianjin Binhai New Area. The expansion project is scheduled to break earth in mid-November in the port city of Tianjin.
This July, Boeing just purchased a 40 percent stake in the venture from Hexcel, a global industry leader in manufacturing and marketing advanced composite materials, and lifted its total ownership to 80 percent.
The venture, 20 percent of which was owned by the former China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I), has supplied composite parts to companies both at home and abroad, such as Boeing, Hexcel, Shanghai Aviation Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd., Xi’an Aircraft Industry (Group) Company Limited, and Goodrich Corp.
